The renowned news and TV anchor Dr. Fiza Akbar Khan is making a comeback to broadcast and media as she has joined Kohenoor TV as a senior anchor and head of news anchors.
Fiza Akbar who recently has been part of a sparked controversy with 7 News (read details), is now eventually returning to national news channel after a break from the screen.
While talking to MediaSpring about joining Kohenoor TV, Fiza Akbar said,
“After what happened at 7 News, as a matter of fact, I was really dejected and decidied never to return to the media industry as we know it. Since my ouster from 7 News, I have refused offers coming from four TV channels including two major TV channels. However, after looking at the offer and the job discription along with the atmosphare & management of Kohenoor TV, I eventually nodded for it. Looking forward to the new and major role with this channel now”.
Fiza will be hosting her show on the channel as Kohenoor is underway a rebranding and relaunch process and hiring a new team. Besides anchoring for the channel, Fiza will also be heading the news anchors wing along with training the anchors.

Fiza Khan is a doctor of medicine by education and started her broadcast journalism career nine years ago with Dunya News, she was part of the maiden team of the channel.
Later she moved to Karachi to join Samaa which was her shot to fame. She was also part of Geo News later where she hosted the hit show of the channel, Hum Sub Umeed Se Hain, replacing Saba Qamar. She is the only news anchor to also host an entertainment show of that scale simultaneously with newscasting.
She also served as news anchor at Aaj News, ARY, Capital TV, and Express News. During the time of Mohammad Malik as MD PTV she joined Pakistan Television as a news anchor at PTV News. Last year she returned to Lahore from Islamabad and joined City News group where she served in various capacities at 24 News, City42, and City41 along with hosting the Ramazan transmission of City41.
Her last stint in media was at 7 News, which ended on a bitter note. Now with the new role, Dr. Fiza Khan is making a comeback and team MediaSpringPK wishes her all the best for that.
