Munawar Zareef, I heard this name first time back in 1995-1996 that was the time when my memory started working properly and I started keeping track and graphic notes of things around me and thing I hear and see. Today is his death anniversary, it is quite unfortunate that many legends have to leave this world at the height of their career. Munawar Zareef when he died had already achieved a name which one can not expect to see a fall as long as the comedy cinema of South Asia and Punjabi cinema is around.
Munawar Zareef acted in over 300 films from year 1961 till his death in 1976. His ability to improvise the situation and come-up with dialogues and sentences like a whiplash made him phenomenally famous. He was the true screen performer, whose presence on the screen can not be missed.
Here are ten best films of this emperor of comedy cinema of South Asia, again numbers are just for the sake of numbers its not ranking, having said that who am I to rank his work 🙂
